Overnight in Belgrade

 

 

As Day 1 on our tour, we will start with our sightseeing in Serbia’s capital city – Belgrade.

Belgrade as one of oldest European cities and real crossroads of East and West has many tales to be shared. It’s also ideal place to start your Balkans Road Trip because once upon a time Belgrade was most important point between East and West or Istanbul and Wien.

A city with real mix of cultures, architectures was always known as white city! Maybe because of its position on confluence of two beautiful rivers or because of white stone that he was made of.

Belgrade Fortress stands as the biggest attraction of the city, together with St. Sava temple will be point of interests for you during city tour of Belgrade.

City that never sleeps today will show you very unique spirit which will be proudly presented by your local tour guide.

Amazing food and drinks, great restaurants and totally warm and welcome atmosphere is something characteristic for Belgrade and it will be perfect for Balkans Road Trip starting point.

 

On second day, we will depart from Belgrade towards Western Serbia, where you will have a chance to enjoy in gorgeous nature!

Mountains, viewpoints and unique wooden houses is something that can describe best Western Serbia.

Tara mountain national park will take your breath away and here you will make some of most scenic photos on this tour.

Shargan Eight railorad journey with scenic narrow-gauge train will deliver you vibes of 19th century while enjoying landscapes of beautiful surrounding mountains.

Wooden town a fairy-tale village was initially built for a movie Life is a Miracle, by Emir Kusturica, famous Serbian movie director. After the movie was shot, the village remained here. It is now popular tourist destination.

 

After getting nice local food lunch, road will lead us to Bosnia, next attraction will be Visegrad town and famous old bridge from 16th century built by Mehmed Pasha Sokolovic.

Arrival to Sarajevo and check-in is planned for late evening hours.

 

 

Overnight in Sarajevo

 

 

Third day, in the morning city tour of Sarajevo is planned.

Very nice start of day can be morning breakfast with Burek included. Traditional breakfast of locals.

City tour of Sarajevo should take about 2 hours.

Visiting some of attractions like Sarajevo city hall built in 1895. by Austrian-Hungarians is must and will be great chance to see amazing mix of cultures in this city.

Why? Because for almost 5 centuries, Sarajevo was occupied by Ottomans, significant Ottoman architecture is present in old part of town – Bascarsija even nowdays, and then suddenly turns into Austrian-Hungarian style. In Sarajevo you would be able to experience all of 3 religions and hear some of very intriguing stories.

Eternal flame monument will just fullfill your experience here and create a beggining of storyline called – Yugoslavia!

 

After Sarajevo, we will start 2h road trip to next gem – Mostar

Nice scenic journey through mountains, lakes and valley of Neretva river is bonus to this tour.

Arrival to Mostar is planned in late afternoon when we will do Mostar city tour as well.

In old town of Mostar, you will be able to see famous old bridge, curved bridge, bazaar, hammam and many more interesting buildings.

On fourth day, nature is awaiting us!

 

Nearby Mostar there is some real nature wonders like waterfalls, springs, rivers and our focus on this day will be famous Blagaj tekke well known as Dervish house (monastery) and Kravica waterfalls.

Although on the way to Dubrovnik we will have chance to see lot of interesting stuff once again.

 

Arrival to Dubrovnik is planned at evening hours.

Morning Dubrovnik city tour with a local guide.

Explore the historic Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, filled with charming cobblestone streets, ancient churches, and magnificent palaces.

 

After Dubrovnik city tour, we are heading to Montenegro!

Stunning Kotor Bay is waiting for us and Our Lady of the rocks.

During scenic ride to Kotor we will make few stops and one of them will be in Perast, old town in the bay with nearby famous island and church Our Lady of the rocks.

We can also pay a visit to nearby local mussels farm and have a nice lunch there.

In the late afternoon we will be exploring ancient and old town of Kotor. One more UNESCO heritage site will be waiting for you to discover it!

 

Overnight in Kotor

On sixth day of our tour we are going to Durmitor mountain and Žabljak town.

Before that, we will climb up steep mountains next to Kotor Bay and enjoy some of breathtaking views on Kotor bay and Montenegro seacoast.

You will make photos that you will remember forever.

Exploring glacier Black Lake on Durmitor will be one more completely different experience for you on Balkans.

One more nearby attraction is second deepest canyon in the world – canyon of Tara river.

There you will have a chance for little bit of adrenaline Zip Line, Rafting is just one of activities there.

 

Overnight in Žabljak

For the last day we are leaving to our guests to suggest how they would like to spend their time depending on their flight time and schedule.

If there is time, we can also include some more sightseeing on the last day.

We are providng transfer to airport of your choice.

Nearest is Podgorica, then Sarajevo, Belgrade.
